Mobile heating unit bridged heating system failure

On the weekend, of all days, and in the middle of a cold January, the heating system in the Frauenthal Monastery in Hagendorn failed. Since a non-functioning heating system may, especially at winter temperatures, quickly result in cold rooms, a quick reaction was required. A mobile heating unit from the rental specialist Hotmobil was used as interim solution in this case of emergency and ensured the supply of heat and hot water for the Cistercian nuns.

No need to have cold rooms!
On the weekend, of all days, Raphael Meier, the administrator responsible for the Frauenthal Monastery, discovered a defect in the wood chip heating system. "Unfortunately, our attempts to get the heating system working again were unsuccessful. It quickly became clear that we would need a few days for the repair and that we would have to organize a temporary solution for the heat supply for this period," Raphael Meier commented on the situation. Quick help was provided by Hotmobil, the leading rental specialist for mobile heating, refrigeration and steam units who has its headquarters in the canton of Schaffhausen and who fortunately can be reached around the clock and is always ready to help.

Rapid assistance
At 12:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Richelene Frey, the sales department employee responsible at Hotmobil, received the call for help via Whatsapp regarding the "heating disaster" in the Frauenthal Monastery. That same afternoon, Raphael Meier received the rental offer for a mobile heating unit as an interim heat source and already on Monday morning, Hotmobil service technician Florian Bieber delivered the mobile replacement heating system to the monastery. This was connected to the heating circuit in the building via two hoses, each ten meters long for supply and return. For this purpose, the heating engineer in charge of the repair had already installed a 2-inch connection pipe and an electrician had prepared the necessary 400 V / CEE 16 A power connection.

Good cooperation
Thanks to perfect service and a fast supply, the mobile backup heating system was running only 24 hours after the detection of the failure – to the complete satisfaction of the administrator and the monastery's residents. All ran hand in hand so that the nuns were not cold and did not have to do without hot water. “We were very happy that the problem could be solved within a very short time and that the cooperation with Hotmobil worked without any problems. Thanks to the interim solution, we had enough time for the repair work”, commented Meier regarding the emergency situation.
